Foundry Bentonite
FOUNDRY BENTONITE is unique blending of Sodium and Calcium based Bentonite which is manufactured in magical bentonite valley, Cankiri. Foundry sand binders for metal casting as well as binders for tactonite iron ore pellets. It is extraordinary solution for foundry sand binding and it can also withstand higher temperature since it contain more percentages of metallic i.e.; Alumina and Ferrous contain. The foundry is able to maintain active clay levels with reduced additions of bentonite since it is having high Mont values. It also offers more superior thermal durability. This feature makes our bentonite ideal for applications that require high heat loads or high melt temperatures. Besides cost savings from lower bentonite adding one additional benefit is that there will be less waste fines to discard so disposal costs will be reduced.
Foundrymen have used bentonite as the binder of choice for making greensand molds for metal castings. BentoniteTRade's Bentonite is a unique blend of high quality Cankiri Bentonite that has been specifically designed to have properties similar to those found in custom blends of sodium and calcium bentonites. The rapid rate of water absorption and low water requirement for activation often result in shorter mulling times for sands bound with BentoniteTRade's Bentonite. These sands exhibit high green, dry and hot compression strengths with low compactability, good permeability and a high level of durability. This makes BentoniteTRade's Bentonites an excellent binder choice for all types of greensand metal casting.
Much of the world's supply of iron ore is produced from a hard rock called taconite, which is ground to a very fine powder to produce iron ore concentrate. BentoniteTRade's Bentonite is added to the iron ore concentrate to act as a binder, facilitating the formation of iron ore pellets. The pellets are then fed to the blast furnace for steel making.
